Coleslaw Recipe "My Favorite"
Shredded raw cabbage or shredded carrots are usual ingredients of coleslaw. Coleslaw is as salad which often consists of buttermilk or mayonnaise.
Cabbage belongs to the species Brassica oleracea Linne (Capitata Group) of the Family Brassicaceae (or Cruciferae), is a green leafy vegetable.

Coleslaw Recipe 'My Favorite'
You will need:
1/4 cup of sour cream
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of celery seed (optional)
1 cabbage head
1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard (optional)
1 minced onion
sliced red bell peppers (optional)
2 tablespoons of salad vinegar
sliced green bell peppers (optional)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
paprika (optional)
Instructions:
Grate cabbage very thinly. Sprinkle vinegar, black pepper (fresh and ground), minced onion and sugar evenly. Put in a sealed container and refrigerate for at least an hour.
Blend mayonnaise, sour cream, salt, and dry mustard. You may add sliced sweet red and green peppers as well as celery seeds. Put this blend onto refrigerated cabbage and toss in the container. Mix well. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours further.
Note: Do not use salad dressing in place of mayonnaise. For best taste, refrigerate coleslaw overnight.
